Antique Austrian Silver Dresser Box of square form, the hinged lid with applied reeded rim and inset with a green Wedgwood plaque of an allegorical(?) hunting scene; marked by Alexander Sturm at Vienna, c.1885-1910.	1.5" high, 4.75" square, 3.38" diameter plaque, 14.1 troy oz. gross. Engraved armorial device; an inscription has been erased.	$ 900.
1564-54. American Silver Toothbrush Box of long cylindrical form with slip-on pierced cover, the sides with two etched bands at top and botton and the cover with floral etched decoration, gilt interior (#8850G); made by Tiffany & Co. of New York NY, c.1907-1930. Script mono "CPM".	6.6" high, 1.4" diameter, 4.4 troy oz.	$ 200.
1492-65. Antique German Silver Dresser Box of oval form with slightly domed hinged lid, the sides engraved with foliate bands at the top and bottom rims, screwed in lock; marked by [WEIGEL.] at Kassel, c.1830-1860. Mono "E.R.G." on the cover.	2.25" high, 5.0" long, 3.75" deep, 9.0 troy oz. Recently repaired and polished with patches at lower base rim and upper hinge joint, some rough joints.	$ 300.
1534-10. Dutch Silver Casket of rectagular form on four cast claw and ball feet, the arched cover embossed with classical scene within a floral and scroll reserve and a cast bail handle, the sides chased with more repoussé classical scenes, mask-headed clasp button; marked by Zaanlandse Zilversmederij at Amsterdam in 1951. No mono.	4.4" high with handle, 3.25" high to top of cover, 4.0" long, 2.75" deep, 7.85 troy oz.	$ 500.
1573-21. American Silver Jewelry Box of plain rectangular form, the hinged cover opening to the burgundy velvet lined interior (#7047); marked sterling only, c.1910-1935. Large script mono "PB".	1.75" high, 5.05" long, 3.8" deep, 9 troy oz. gross. Velvet in base with old silver polish residue. SOme dings to surface.	$ 250.
1441-37. German Silver Box of oval form with ruffled base and cover rims, the slightly domed cover embossed with a view of a hunter and his dog pursuing a rabbit, the sides embossed with foliate scroll decoration; struck with three unidentified pseudo-hallmarks, c.1900-1935.	1.5" high, 3.5" long, 2.88" wide, 3.3 troy oz. Engraved on base "MAH 1950".	$ 150.
1536-14. German Silver Jewelry Box of oval form, the domed hinged cover embossed with three winged putti building a long floral garland, the sides embossed with floral and scroll decoration; struck with an unidentified trademark. Engraved with mono "J.M.W.J." on front and script "Firenze 1922" on back.	2.1" high, 4.8" long, 3.6" deep, 7.2 troy oz.	$ 450.

	1372-15. American Silver Card Case of curved rectangular form, angled hinged cover, the front and back stamped with foliate scroll decoration; made by the Webster Co. of North Attleboro MD, c.1900-1930. No mono.	3.38" long, 1.88" wide, 0.25" thick, 1.2 troy oz.	$ 150.
	1396-42. Antique American Silver Card Case of thin rectangular form with chain handle, the front engraved with foliate sticks, the back with a flowering plant (#17F); made by the Whiting Mfg. Co. of New York NY, c.1870-1890. Mono "SHL ".	3.5" long, 2.38" wide, 0.25" thick, 1.5 troy oz.	$ 295.

1573-20. American Silver Trophy Cigarette Box of plain rectangular form with slightly domed hinged cover and gilt interior (#440); marked by Ahrendt & Kautzman of Newark NJ. Engraved in small cap Roman "McDonogh School Comepetitive Calvary Drill Won by 2nd Platoon Lieut. Frank Martin 1934".	0.8" high, 3.8" long, 2.95" deep, 3.55 troy oz. Cover with some spotting.	$ 135.
1518-29. American Brass-mounted Desk Box of rectangular form on four bun feet, the hinged cover and four sides in the pierced 'pine needle' pattern backed by smokey glass panels bordered with applied brass beading, smokey glass bottom (#809); marked by Tiffany Studios of New York NY, c.1900-1930. No mono.	2.25" high, 6.5" long, 4.05" deep. Some discoloration to the metal.	$ 975.
1573-22. American Silver Cigarette Box of plain rectangular form, the slightly domed hinged cover opening to a wood lined interior; struck with the trademark of Woods & Chatellier and retailed by Black, Starr & Frost, both of New York NY, c.1915-1925. Fancy script mono "FM".	1.38" high, 4.62" long, 3.38" deep.	$ 150.
1559-55. Japanese Silver Cigarette Box of rectangular form, the hinged cover chased with repoussé dragon decoration and the sides chased with repoussé cloud or wave decoration, rosewood lined; struck with unidentified ideographic characters, c.1890-1935.	2.5" high, 6.25" long, 4.0" deep. Polished with some holes in the high points of the decoration, one whisker has been broken loose at the snout and bent, and some seam cracks in base.	$ 1,050.

	1428-17. American Silver-mounted Leather Cigarette Case, the sewn rectangular leather bag with silver collar and hinged flat lid (#2867); made by R. Blackinton & Co. of North Attleboro MA, c.1900-1930. Mono "J•F•R•Jr".	3.0" long, 2.38" wide, 1.12" thick. Made to hold cigarettes in their pack.	$ 75.
	1418-02. George V Silver Cigarette Case with engine turned front and back, the interesting slide hinge negating the need for a separate opening mechanism; marked by Alfred Dunhill at Birmingham in 1921/22. Applied gold(?) mono "JP II".	4.38" long, 3.25" wide, 0.38" thick, 5.4 troy oz. The gilt interior missing the elastic band.	$ 300.

Compacts

1564-67. American Silver Compact of plain shaped rectangular pillow form with moulded edges, the hinged cover opening with a spring clasp to display a hinged mirror, a hinged currency clip, and spring-loaded slots for 2 nickels and 2 dimes (#7043); made by R. Blackinton & Co. of North Attleboro MA, c.1910-1940. Engraved art deco mono "VGA"?	3.5" long, 2.5" wide, 0.38" thick, approximately 1.85 troy oz. (3.06 troy oz. gross). Some spotting to mirror.	$ 110.
1449-25. American Silver Compact of circular plain form with slightly domed hinged cover revealing a mirror when opened; made by R. Blackinton & Co. of North Attleboro MA, c.1940-1960. Mono "OCS".	2.5" diameter, 0.5" thick.	$ 45.
1573-11. Antique American Silver Small Compact of convex plain circular form with jump ring, the hinged cover backed with an interior mirror and opening to a small powder puff; made by the Webster Co. of Attleboro MA. Engraved Roman caps "DEC. 4TH 1912".	1.5" diameter, 0.4" thick, 0.25 troy oz. gross. Powder puff ribbon detached, mirro with some spotting.	$ 25.

Antique American Silver Dresser Jar of compressed globular form, the mushroom form slip-on domed cover and sides chased allover with floral and fern chased repoussé decoration (#25); marked by the James R. Armiger Co. of Baltimore MD, c.1900-1915. No mono.	3.5" high, 4.25" body diameter, 3.25" lip diameter, 6.9 troy oz.	$ 500.
1570-13. American Silver Hair Receiver of convex circular form, the mushroom form cover with pierced center hole, chased allover with floral repoussé decoration (#450A); made by the Stieff Co. of Baltimore MD in 1926. Script mono "BLB".	3.75" high, 4.5" body diameter, 2.75" lip diameter, 8.1 troy oz.	$ 550.
1471-43. Antique Victorian Silver Dresser Box of cylindrical form with ruffled foot and cover rims, the domed slip-on cover and body chased with grotesque and fantastical mask, floral, and scroll decoration; marked by William Comyns at London in 1896/97 and struck with the French import mark when retailed by Tiffany & Co. at their Paris shop. Mono "LMP".	3.88" high, 3.88" diameter, 6.7 troy oz.	$ 800.
1417-26. American Silvergilt Hair Pin Box of oval form, the domed slip-on cover embossed with floral and scroll decoration (#268); made by Dominick & Haff of New York NY and retailed by the Bailey, Banks & Biddle Co. of Philadelphia PA, c.1890-1915. No mono.	1.0" high, 3.62" long, 1.0" wide, 1.4 troy oz.	$ 200.

Antique American Silver Dresser Jar of compressed baluster circular form, slightly domed slip-on cover and body chased with repoussé foliate scroll and floral decoration, gilt interior (#13164); marked by Tiffany & Co. of New York NY 1902-1907. No mono.	2.62" high, 4.25" diameter, 7.8 troy oz. Some dings.	$ 660.

Match Safes

1567-32. Antique American Silver Match Safe of shaped rectangular form, the front of the body and hinged lid embossed with a nude Venus(?) figure within a folaite scroll and floral background, ribbed striking surface along bottom; marked by Unger Bros. of Newark NJ c.1900-1910. Scroll mono "GBN" for George Bentley Nicholas on the plain back side.

2.55" high, 1.88" wode, 0.5" thick, 15 troy dwts. Pinhole in decoration, several seam splits.

	1573-12. American Silver Pill Box of circular form with embossed rose border on the hinged cover; made by the Thomae Co. of Attleboro MA, c.1920-1960. No mono.	0.55" high, 1.3" diameter, 0.5 troy oz.	$ 35.
	1573-13/14. Pair American Silver Small Boxes of plain circular form with slip-on slightly domed cover, gilt interior; struck with an unidentified (H) trademark, c.1910-1935. Roman mono "E.P.B." on cover.	0.75" high, 1.18" diameter, 0.48 troy oz. each. These may be small rouge boxes for cosmetics.	$ 30./ea

Presentation & Trophy Boxes

	1573-20. American Silver Trophy Cigarette Box of plain rectangular form with slightly domed hinged cover and gilt interior (#440); marked by Ahrendt & Kautzman of Newark NJ. Engraved in small cap Roman "McDonogh School Comepetitive Calvary Drill Won by 2nd Platoon Lieut. Frank Martin 1934". The McDonogh School was established in 1873 near Owings Mills MD as a semi-military school for orphan boys, tuition students were accepted in 1922, and daily commuting students in 1927; the military traditions were discontinued in 1971 prior to becoming coeducational in 1975.	0.8" high, 3.8" long, 2.95" deep, 3.55 troy oz. 	1573-19. American Silver Arts & Crafts Trophy Box of oval form with a slip-on domed cover and gilt interior; marked by Arthur J. Stone of Gardner MA and struck with the journeyman craftsman's mark of "P" probably for flatware specialist Walter W. Pfeiffer working 1914-1916 (the other possibly is Holloware specialist John H. Petty working 1906-1907).	1.0" high, 3.38" long, 2.38" wide; 2.9 troy oz. The cover engraved presentation in small cap Roman letters "Fitzwilliam Town Fair Sept. 1914 Combination Class Won by Lady Lightfoot" commemorating the New Hamphire horse competition.	ON HOLD

Worn surface, some dings, one corner with small hole, interior re-gilt.	$ 250.
	1567-66. Antique William IV Silver Snuffbox of rectangular form with thread moulded sides, the hinged cover and base with slightly beveled plain border enclosing the engraved engine-turned decoration, applied chased floral decorated thumbpiece on the cover and gilt interior; marked by Edward Smith at Birmingham in 1830/31.	2.65" long, 1.65" wide, 0.55" thick, 2.25 troy oz. Script engraved "A. Haine" on cover.	$ 350.

Antique American Silver String Holder of shaped globular form on short moulded foot, the pierced and floral embossed bayonet-mounted cover fitted to a plain base (#856A); marked sterling only, c.1890-1915. Antique Dutch Silver Tea Caddy of oval form with paneled cast finial above the boat-form hinged cover with embossed scroll and landscape decoration, the sides embossed with similar decoration; marked [HH] by either Hermanus Hartman or H. Hooijkaas (Schoonhovense Zilverfabriek) at Schoonhoven in1909. No mono.	4.0" high, 3.62" long, 2.35" deep, 4.55 troy oz. Cover sprung with solder repair to hinge.	$ 265.

Antique Victorian Silver Vinaigrette of shaped oval form, the hinged cover and base engraved with foliate scroll decoration, the sides with engine-turned decoration, the interior with hinged foliate engraved pierced grille; marked by Francis Clark at Birmingham in 1845/46. No mono.	1.0" long, 0.68" wide, 0.20" thick, 4.5 dwts. Later jump rings for hanging around the neck.	$ 250.

Antique George III Silver Vinaigrette of rectangular form, the hinged cover and base engraved with woven straped basketweave decoration, the gilt interior with engraved woven straped basketweave decorated pierced grille; marked [WE] by either Wm. Antique George III Silver Vinaigrette of shaped rectangular form, the hinged cover, sides and base with plain surface, the gilt interior with a hinged applied filigree pierced grille; marked by Hart & Co. at Birmingham in 1806/07. No mono.	1.0" long, 0.75" wide, 0.25" thick, 6 dwts. Some minor dings on cover, seam split on base above applied thumbpiece.	$ 250.

Antique Victorian Silver Vinaigrette of rectangular form, the hinged cover and base engraved as a straped pocketbook, the gilt interior with a hinged engraved floral and foliate scroll decorated pierced grill; marked by Hilliard & Thomason at Birmingham in 1883/84. 1570-07. Antique French Silver Vinaigrette of rectangular form with engraved thread decorated hinged cover and base, the gilt interior with hinged engraved foliate scroll pierced grille; struck with an unidentified <JL> maker's mark along with a miniscule small mark on the grill and base, c.1830-1870. No mono.	1.2" long, 1.0" wide, 0.25" thick, 9 dwts.	$ 250.
1570-05. Antique George III Silver Vinaigrette of rectangular pillow form, the hinged cover with engraved foliate decoration, the base engraved with a narrow line and pricked double border, the gilt interior with a hinged applied filigree pierced grille; marked by Matthew Linwood at Birmingham in 1810/11.	1.12" long, 0.85" wide, 0.30" thick, 7 dwts. A mono has been erased from the cover resulting in the hallmarks outlines being visible from the outside.	$ 200.
1570-01. Antique Victorian Silver Vinaigrette of shaped rectangular form, the hinged cover, base and sides engraved with engine-turned decoration, the gilt interior with hinged foliate scroll engraved pierced grill, applied thumbpiece; marked by Frederick Marson at Birmingham in 1860/61.	1.38" long, 0.95" wide, 0.38" thick, 12 dwts. Small script mono "JH" inside floral and scroll reserve on the cover.	$ 350.
1570-02. Antique Victorian Silver Vinaigrette of shaped rectangular form, the hinged cover, base and sides engraved with engine-turned decoration, applied engraved thumbpiece, the gilt interior with a hinged engraved foliate scroll decorated pierced grille; marked by Nathaniel Mills at Birmingham in 1842/43.	1.25" long, 0.90" wide, 0.30" thick, 9 dwts. Engraved in script "Emma" inside scroll edged shield reverse on the cover. Grille a little bent.	$ 350.

Antique Victorian Silver Vinaigrette of rectangular form, the hinged cover and base decorated with engine-turned engraving, the sides with narrow horizontal ribbing, applied foliate engraved thumbpiece, the gilt interior with a hinged engraved floral decorated pierced grille; marked by Nathaniel Mills at Birmingham in 1843/44.	1.25" long, 0.85" wide, 0.38" thick, 8 dwts. Engraved Old English mono "M.B.G." inside a scroll edged shield on the cover.	$ 350.

Antique George III Silver Vinaigrette of cut cornered rectangular pillow form, the hinged cover engraved with basketweave decoration and the base engraved with doulbe pinprick border, the gilt interior with hinged foliate scroll filigree pierced grill; marked by Samuel Pemberton at Birmingham in 1802/03. Antique Victorian Silver Vinaigrette of shaped rectangular form, the hinged cover hand-engraved on an engine-turned background of a view of a villa on a lake, the sides and base engraved with foliate scroll decoration within scroll borders, the gilt interior with hinged foliate scroll decorated pierced grille, cast and chased applied thumbpiece; marked by Edward Smith at Birmingham in 1847/48.	1.5" long, 1.25" wide, 0.35" thick, 16 dwts.
