The collecting of Souvenir Spoons became popular in Europe during the second half of the nineteenth century. The first American Souvenir Spoons date from the 1880s but the collecting of them took off with the introduction of the Salem Witch Spoons by Daniel Low in 1891; great quantities of souvenir spoons celebrating historical and current events, people, and locations were made in the following decades. This page  will have American examples categorized under Exhibitions & Fairs(by date), Historical Events (military & etc by date), Locations (alphabetical by state / town / buildings), People (alphabetical), and Miscellaneous; certain pieces may be listed under multiple categories. Most non-American examples will be listed by country under the continent but certain countries such as Britain, Canada and Mexico may have seperate categories.

If a piece is marked Hold it has been reserved by a customer,  if it is marked Paid we have received a check, and if it is marked Sold the transaction has been completed. Antique American Silver Souvenir Coffee Spoon, the partially gilt handle labeled "World's Columbian Exposition" and depicting portraits of Columbus on the front and Queen Isabella on the back above globes, the partially gilt bowl depicting the Santa Maria at sea; the design patented by William H. Jamouneau 6 June 1893 (#22,499) and manufactured for B.F. Norris, Alister & Co. of Chicago IL by the Alvin Mfg. Co. of Irvington NJ. 4.05" long, 0.9" bowl width, 0.3 troy oz. Script mono "A.de F.C." on the back of the bowl. $ 40.

Antique American Silver Souvenir Coffee Spoon depicting "Isabella 1492" on the front of the handle and the Santa Maria(?) on the back, the bowl decorated with a view of the "Women's Bldg." at the "Columbian Exposition Chicago 1893"; struck with the patent date 1893 and the intertwined trademark "SC" for the S. Cottle Co. of New York NY. 4.25" long, 0.8" bowl width, 0.25 troy oz. No mono. $ 40. 
1565-36. Antique American Silver Souvenir Coffee Spoon depicting an Indian and a Buffalo on the front of the handle and Niagra Falls on the back, the gilt bowl labeled "Pan-American Exposition 1901" and depicting two figures grasping hands in the form of the two continents in the western hemisphere; made by the Joseph Seymour Mfg. Co. of Syracuse NY and loosely taken from the designed patented by Edward A. Muth of Buffalo NY 1 May 1900 (#32,609). 3.75" long, 0.8" bowl width, 0.35 troy oz. No mono. $ 35.

Antique American Silver Souvenir Coffee Spoon in an unidentified 'Rose & Thread' pattern, the bowl stamped with a view of "Festival Hall & Cascades", presumably part of the 1903 Louisiana Purchase Exposition; struck with a fleur-de-lis in a diamond trademark and marked by Mermod, Jaccard & Co. of St. Louis MO. Script mono "S.H.R." 4.15" long, 0.95" bowl width, 0.35 troy oz. $ 35.
1368-45. Antique American Silver Souvenir Coffee Spoon, the front of the handle depicting portraits of "William H. Steward Father of Alaska" and "The Original Seattle", the back of the handle depicting several landscapes and labeled "Alaska Yukon Pacific Exposition", the front of the bowl depicting three women and labeled   "A∙Y∙P∙Ex.", the back noting it's status as an "Official Souvenir..." of the fair held in Seattle in 1909; design patented by Joseph Mayer 23 July 1907 and made by Joseph Mayer & Bros. of Seattle WA. 4.1" long, 0.9" bowl width, 0.38 troy oz. Antique American Silver Souvenir Spoon decorated with a portrait of "Christopher Columbus" on the front of the handle and a view of the Santa Maria on the back, the bowl depicting the explorer and his men sighting the new world in "1492";  the design patented by William H. Thurber on 28 July 1891 (#20,971) and  manufactured for the Tilden-Thurber Co. by the Howard Sterling Co., both of Providence RI. No mono. 6.0" long, 1.25" bowl width, 1.05 troy oz. $ 75.
1524-59. Antique American Silver Souvenir Coffee Spoon with the handle labeled "Baltimore" and depicting a terrapin and other flora and fauna of the Chesapeake Bay, the gilt bowl depicting the Battle Monument commemorating the "1814" Battle of "North Point"; the design patented by John W. Mealy on 15 September 1891 (#21,043), assigned to and retailed by Hennegan, Bates & Co. of Baltimore MD and manufactured by Dominick & Haff of New York NY. No mono. 4.25" long, 0.85" bowl width, 0.3 troy oz. $ 35.
1575-32. Antique American Silver Souvenir Spoon with the handle depicting the 'Historical Cannon' first fired at Fort Sumner in 1861 to begin the Civil War with decorative views of Mt. Vernon (home of George Washington) and Arlington (home of Robert E. Lee), the partially gilt bowl depicting the Garfield Memorial Monument in front of the United States Capitol; marked sterling only but the design patented by Henry H. Jacobs on 9 June 1891 (#20,822) and manufactured exclusively for Jacobs Bros. of Washington DC by the Gorham Mfg. Co. of Providence RI. No mono. 5.8" long, 1.25" bowl width,  1.04 troy oz. $ 100.

Antique American Silver Souvenir Spoon with the bowl front stamped with a view of the White House and labeled "Protection" and "Proseperity" with the back stamped with the seal of the United States, the handle depicting a portrait of William McKinley, the American flag, and the capitol dome as well as being labeled with the "Sound Money" political message of the 1896 McKinley Presidential campaign; the design patented by George R. Pohl on 23 February 1897 (#26,668) and assigned to Robert Leding, made for Moore & Leding of Washington DC by Dominick & Haff of New York NY.
